Kuebler's Rich Legacy Since 1832

The Kuebler Family

       In 1832: Kuebler Shoe Store was founded, when Joseph Kuebler, along with his wife and two sons, came to Tiffin from Baden-Baden Germany. With an inherited ability to create quality footwear, and the will to succeed, Joseph Kuebler began what is now the Oldest Shoe Store in the United States! 

Through five generations of the Kuebler 

       In 1832: Kuebler Shoe Store was founded, when Joseph Kuebler, along with his wife and two sons, came to Tiffin from Baden-Baden Germany. With an inherited ability to create quality footwear, and the will to succeed, Joseph Kuebler began what is now the Oldest Shoe Store in the United States! 

Through five generations of the Kuebler family, several physical building moves, the business became known all over Ohio for commitment to quality shoes at popular prices. From handmaking shoes in a barn to a downtown storefront the Kuebler family name became a recognized business.

Kuebler sold to Obringer 


 In 1985, John Kuebler, the fifth-generation owner, retired and sold the business to his longtime employee: Joseph Obringer. Joe moved the store to West Market Street. Joe stated: "Someone very close to me once said that to be a successful business owner, you must treat your job not as an occupation, but as a way

 In 1985, John Kuebler, the fifth-generation owner, retired and sold the business to his longtime employee: Joseph Obringer. Joe moved the store to West Market Street. Joe stated: "Someone very close to me once said that to be a successful business owner, you must treat your job not as an occupation, but as a way of life. Getting a heart felt thank you, from someone who had previously suffered from ill fitting or poor quality shoes, is our greatest reward"   He cared for Kuebler Shoe Store until his retirement serving the Tiffin and surrounding communities.

In January 2022: Joe entrusted Klinton and Kymberlee Wood to carry on the legacy of Kuebler Shoes. These new owners moved the store into its current location: 191 East Market Street. Kuebler Shoes continues to carry high quality footwear and now offers the latest technology with an Aetrex Albert foot scanner. The Wood

In January 2022: Joe entrusted Klinton and Kymberlee Wood to carry on the legacy of Kuebler Shoes. These new owners moved the store into its current location: 191 East Market Street. Kuebler Shoes continues to carry high quality footwear and now offers the latest technology with an Aetrex Albert foot scanner. The Wood family proudly continues the traditional "sit and fit" style store for the entire family and to serve those with specific Pedorthic needs. Striving for success the Wood family has added new shoe brands and insoles to continue to serve to needs of our customers.

Phyllis (Obringer) Hyde, Joe's sister retired from her "retirement job" at Kuebler Shoes.

Our First Online Sale

2025

We sold our first item officially "online" this year through a 3rd party site. Inventory is input at times by 15 year old son, Kolton Wood.
