In 1832: Kuebler Shoe Store was founded, when Joseph Kuebler, along with his wife and two sons, who came to Tiffin from Baden-Baden Germany. With an inherited ability to create quality footwear, and the will to succeed, Joseph Kuebler built a successful business handmaking shoes and boots.
Through five generations of the Kuebler family, the business became known all over Ohio for its commitment to quality shoes at popular prices. From handmaking shoes in a barn to a downtown storefront the Kuebler family name became a recognized business name.
In 1985 John Kuebler, the fifth-generation owner, retired and sold the business to his longtime employee, Joseph Obringer. Joe moved the store and cared for it until his retirement serving the Tiffin and surrounding communities. Joe stated: "Someone very close to me once said that to be a successful business owner, you must treat your job not as an occupation, but as a way of life. Getting a heart felt thank you, from someone who had previously suffered from ill fitting or poor quality shoes, is our greatest reward"
In January 2022: Klinton and Kymberlee Wood bought Kuebler Shoes from Joe Obringer and are the current owners who moved the store into its current location. Kuebler Shoes continues to offer high quality shoes and now offers the latest technology with an Aetrex Albert foot scanner and 3D printed orthotics. The Wood family proudly continues the traditions of offering footwear for the entire family and to serve those with specific Pedorthic needs.
With 190 years of footwear knowledge in this long-standing business, we have found an art in our ability to select a well-balanced inventory. With over 8,000 pairs of shoes in stock for men, women, and children, we are able to fit a large majority of the population.
